The Gilbertos was formed in Cologne, in 1992, by Thomas & Karla Pappon, who had moved from Brazil to Germany. Karla left after the first album. The Gillbertos released another four with collaborators like Akira Van der S, Sean O'Hagan, Ricardo Salvagni and Lauro Lellis.
